Behavioral Pediatrics in Lake Oswego, Oregon

Children all struggle with behavioral problems at times, and this is a normal part of development. However, if these challenges are getting in the way of daily routines, school work, or relationships with family or friends, we are here to help! We use evidence-based treatment techniques to help parents and children learn coping skills quickly to experience relief! By collaborating with your child’s pediatrician, we can help rule out any medical causes that may contribute to these behaviors.

*Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT)

CBIT is an evidence-based form of treatment for children with tics and Tourette Syndrome. We offer CBIT services upon referral from your child’s pediatrician. CBIT takes dedication and practice, but it is an effective form of intervention to reduce tic frequency and intensity. More information can be found on the Tourette Association of America website: www.tourette.org.

CBIT consists of three components:

Training children to be more aware of tics and the urge to tic.

Training children to perform a competing behavior when they feel the urge to tic

Making changes to daily activities in ways that can be helpful in reducing tics
